John Fenik was born and raised in London, Ontario. After completing secondary school at an inner-city Catholic High School, he moved to Ottawa where, in 1981, he obtained a Child Care Worker Diploma from Algonquin College.
In 2006 he earned an Honours Degree in Social Work from Carleton University. John moved from Ottawa to Perth, Ontario in 1987. He was Mayor of Perth for sixteen years (2006 -2021).
Fox Tail – A Tale of a Canadian Timber Frame Retreat is John’s third book. It follows the successful publication of, Seducing the Vote and Hitchhikers Guide to Municipal Politics.
A writer, film maker and photographer, John is currently working on his fourth book, Trinity Gate.
John is also the Publisher and Owner of the Review Mirror newspaper.
